Jewellery Care

Caring for your jewellery and retaining it’s beauty can be as simple as…

  • Always protecting your items from knocks, scratches, chemicals and extreme temperatures to minimise damage or wear.
  • Remembering to remove all pieces before showering, bathing and especially when swimming. Chlorine and salt water can be harmful, especially to plated jewellery!
  • Keeping all jewellery away from lotions and potions such as hairspray, body creams and perfumes. It is recommended that you put your jewellery on after your beauty regime.
  • Storing your jewels in a soft line box or in a pouch, away from other jewellery to avoid rubbing and scratching. Ideally you want to store your jewellery in a dark, cool and dry place.

Your precious metal jewellery will naturally tarnish over time but following these measures will delay oxidisation. If you start to notice a grey hue, it is recommended that you use a gentle polishing cloth to restore it’s shine! Do not use tissue paper or paper towels to clean metal as they can cause scratching.

A metal polish can be used with silver but be careful not to use polishing agents with gold plated jewellery as this will remove the gold surface layer.
